Kent Social Care

In Crisis

We've all read about the crisis in social care in this country - the result of Tory austerity that has cut 40% and more from council budgets up and down the country.

In Kent this year council taxes are going up 4% - and yet social care cuts will still mean costs imposed on the most vulnerable in our community are going to double in some cases.

Conservative-controlled Kent County Council has said it will need to cut £78m from its budget for this year and that the budget squeeze will go on for years to come.

But the Council did not make clear where the axe for cuts would fall and is not being open and transparent with residents.

  • We will fight to protect services for the most vulnerable in our community.
  • We will demand transparent government and budgets
